I couldn’t make it to Jazz Fest yesterday. A client had some needs that took priority. But I made it out there today. Saw the entire sets of Bonerama, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, and [dramatic pause] Simon & Garfunkel. Between those, parts of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Mass Gospel Choir (no visit to Jazz Fest is complete without a stop in the Gospel Tent), Lil’ Buck Sinegal, and Better Than Ezra.
Bonerama closed their set with When the Levee Breaks—a song we take personally around here. When Boneama covers a Led Zeppelin song, you’d think the song was written for trombones. Here’s what I mean:
