A status report on New Orleans

January is named after Janus, the two-faced Roman god. Yat Pundit appropriately uses Janus as a theme for summarizing the dual state of things in New Orleans as we begin 2008. There’s the good face, experienced by tourists and those living in some neighborhoods. And there’s the not-so-good face, experienced in areas still struggling to recover from the 2005 flood.

Bottom line: If you’re thinking about visiting, come on down. We’re ready for you, and you’ll have a great time. If you’re wondering whether we still need help: we do.
