One way to develop a psychiatric practice

I’ve just figured out that my psychiatrist’s office has a secret plan for developing its practice: drive people crazy while they’re sitting in the waiting room. They do this by playing a local soft-rock radio station. The last two times in a row that I went there, I was subjected to Don't Go Breaking My Heart and Careless Whisper before the doctor finally saw me. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that -- this must be a common tactic in psych offices. I distinctly recall hearing "Little Jeannie" the last time I visited my doctor.

However, if that's really their plan, they should segregate the patients in the waiting room, because seeing some of the other folks there usually made me feel a LOT better about my own condition. So, I think the waiting room cuts both ways.

We already all live in this city, the music is just icing on the cake.
