One they forgot to mention is the rather ugly, and sometimes confusing, "sign off on" to mean "approve" or "agree to." And if it's supposed to mean to "sign" something, just say so.

Oh yeah! Not only wordy, but two prepositions in a row contradicting each other. I can hear the ghost of George Carlin: “Is it on or is it off? Make up your f***ing mind.”
