Which explains my aptitude

Today’s installment of Garner’s Usage Tip of the Day carried this quotable quote:

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly that balanced, well-adjusted, stable and secure people do not, on the whole, make good writers ....”

—Paul Johnson, The Quotable Paul Johnson 401 (1994).

Ray, I read that quote yesterday on Garner's tip of the day, and I had the same reaction. "Wow, what does that say about me? Am I a bad writer, or one messed up cookie?"

Well, Scott, in your case we can certainly rule out “bad writer.”
