I’ve already plugged Bryan Garner’s Winning Brief CLE seminar, which is on tour now. If you’re a litigator who’s never attended this seminar, you should consider doing so.
This is for those who may have attended the seminar years ago, and are wondering whether it would be worthwhile to attend again. I first attended The Winning Brief around 1998. Yesterday I attended again, thinking that a refresher would do me some good. I got the refresher, and a whole lot more.
As you may know, Bryan has collected video clips of interviews with judges at all levels: magistrates, district judges, appellate judges, and Supreme Court justices. He’s incorporated many of those video clips into his presentation. So yesterday, I got briefwriting advice from many judges, including Richard Posner, Frank Easterbrook, Alex Kozinski, Thomas Reavley, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and John Roberts — a pretty good faculty for a six-hour CLE seminar.
